A History of Innovation in Surveying

Diamond Land Surveying began operating in Idaho in 2015, with origins in the west in the late 1990’s. Out of our office in Emmett we’re found surveying the major metropolitan areas of Idaho, including the Treasure Valley, Couer D’Alene, Twin Falls and Southeast Idaho.

Nathan Weber, PLS, President of Diamond Land Surveying, has a talent for identifying technologies that enhance the accuracy and efficiency of surveying while opening up exciting new possibilities for everyday applications.

As a high school student, Nathan spent his summers working as a crew hand and his winters as a draftsman. A quick learner, he soon mastered the trade and was entrusted with running a crew at just 17 years old. Over the years, he honed his skills as a surveyor and draftsman. His early career was marked by significant roadway projects, including the reconstruction of I-15. By the age of 21, Nathan was appointed as the survey auditor for the I-15 reconstruction project, overseeing 13 full-time survey crews on this critical infrastructure project.

After gaining experience at several larger engineering firms, Nathan’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to join Diamond Land Surveying in 2000. This venture eventually culminated in his acquisition of the company. From the start, the firm focused on pioneering the use of 3D laser scanning in surveying, becoming one of the early adopters of this technology in the western United States. Today, our firm continues to invest heavily in outfitting our team members with the latest technology and education needed to deliver our clients with timely and reliable surveys.
